Please join us in welcoming Laura into her new role as Director of Children’s Ministry.
Pastor of Ministry Development
When we found ourselves with a spot to fill in the Anchor, we asked Chris to temporarily fill this position until we found a replacement – well that was 5 years ago. A season quickly turned into 5 years. Chris hasn’t merely filled this position he’s done it well and with excellence. Chris has been with Hope Point for 10 years and 5 of those years he’s served in dual roles as Pastor of Ministry Development and Director of Children’s Ministry. We will miss Chris in the Anchor, but are excited to give him the opportunity to focus on ministry development. Chris will now be able to turn his full attention to developing community, discipleship, First Impressions, and new member assimilation.
A graduate of Lees McRae College and Southern Seminary, Chris has seen South Carolina play a major role in his spiritual journey. After leading the student ministry of a local church for five years, Chris became involved with a children’s sports ministry where he served as program development manager. It was there that he was again drawn to use his gifts specifically in the local church, helping people to experience God more fully through discipleship and community. Joining him in ministry is his wife Paula, and their three sons, Jakin, Seth, and Micah. Chris especially enjoys creation through hiking and riding mountain bikes.
