Building Use Policy

OUR PERSPECTIVE

• Stewardship: Our building is a stewardship to be used for the honor of God. We intend for it to be used, used well, used smartly, and used to carry out our God-assigned mission.
• Accountability: In order for a person or group to use the building, a mature and responsible person in the  group will take explicit responsibility for the building and resources during their event. 
• Respect: All use of the building will show respect for the property, and all participants will leave it better than they found it.

GROUP EVENTS

CATEGORIES FOR GROUP EVENTS (IN ORDER OF PRIORITY)

• Mission Critical: A key strategic event where it is very easy to see how the event is critical to our strategy of guiding our congregation to applaud God, follow Christ, and live on mission (e.g. worship,  Discover, volunteer training, small group, funeral)
• Mission Partner: A key strategic event for a mission partner doing the work that we are supporting them in (e.g. Sidewalk Hope hosting a training, C.O. or Cru hosting a college event)
• Personal Use: An event that a member seeks to host at our building (e.g. wedding, baby shower, bridal shower, birthday, family get-together, general educational events)

BUILDING USE CONSIDERATION

• Scheduled church activities will have priority to space, facilities, and equipment.
• Saturday events in general, will not be approved. Some exceptions will be considered.
• Utilities, facility personnel, and housekeeping fees will be assessed. Please see fee structure below.

Cost:  Our building is costly to own, clean, and maintain, so fees will be assigned where appropriate.  

MINISTRY PARTNER USE POLICY

Ministry partners are exempt from costs associated with the building use fees. A maximum of 4 events per calendar year are allowed and must be approved by the building team.

Other Considerations:

There are many other factors that will be considered.

•   Is this a one-time need?
•   Are you requesting use of the space several times?
•   What spaces and what resources are needed?
•   Is someone profiting from use?
•   Is staff able to service the needs?
