This position will supplement our existing custodian and work alongside him to handle the current workload.  The grounds and maintenance technician keeps the church clean and tidy between events, services, and various church activities. The job description of a Grounds and Maintenance Custodian describes the many duties needed to keep the church looking clean and orderly at all times.

Work Type: Part-Time (Flexible Schedule – 15-20 hours per week)

• High School Diploma or equivalent.

• Custodial experience preferred.

• Understanding of cleaning techniques and safety procedures.

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and pass a background check.

• Strong communication, comprehension, and interpersonal skills.

• Flexibility to adjust their schedule to suit the needs of the church, including some work on the weekends.

• Motivation to work independently or with others to provide thorough, efficient custodial services to the church.

• Maintaining clean church facilities by performing weekly duties and regular spot cleaning in all public areas of the building, including bathrooms, sanctuary, kitchens, classrooms, and meeting rooms.

• Working with other maintenance team members and church staff to ensure that all areas are cleaned and stocked with necessary items.

• Observing proper chemical handling procedures when working with cleaning agents, including wearing gloves, goggles, or masks and following written or verbal instructions.

• Performing maintenance, such as changing light bulbs and restocking bathrooms, and making minor repairs (i.e. patch and paint wall damage, change ceiling tiles, change carpet or LVT tiles).

• Assisting with event preparations and clean up.

• Setup classrooms and sanctuary as needed for special events.

• Primary cleaning will occur during the week during normal business hours however there will be events that occur on weekends that will require cleanup prior to Sunday morning services. Some Saturday work is required and could be as late as 8pm as some events go late on Saturdays.
