We are seeking a dependable and motivated Building and Grounds Custodian to help care for and maintain our church facilities. This role is responsible for ensuring our buildings and grounds remain clean, safe, welcoming, and prepared for weekly ministry activities and special events. Responsibilities include custodial care, event setup and preparation, light maintenance tasks, and helping create an environment where people feel comfortable and cared for. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and takes pride in serving others through excellent stewardship of our church campus.

Work Type: Part-Time (Flexible Schedule – 20-25 hours per week)

• High School Diploma or equivalent.

• Custodial experience preferred.

• Understanding of cleaning techniques and safety procedures.

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

• Strong communication, comprehension, and interpersonal skills.

• Flexibility to adjust their schedule to suit the needs of the church, including some work on the weekends.

• Motivation to work independently or with others to provide thorough, efficient custodial services to the church.

• Maintaining clean church facilities by performing weekly duties and regular spot cleaning in all public areas of the building, including bathrooms, sanctuary, kitchens, classrooms, and meeting rooms.

• Working with other maintenance team members and church staff to ensure that all areas are cleaned and stocked with necessary items.

• Observing proper chemical handling procedures when working with cleaning agents, including wearing gloves, goggles, or masks and following written or verbal instructions.

• Performing maintenance, such as changing light bulbs and restocking bathrooms, and making minor repairs (i.e. patch and paint wall damage, change ceiling tiles, change carpet or LVT tiles).

• Assisting with event preparations and clean up.

• Setup classrooms and sanctuary as needed for special events.

• Primary cleaning will occur during the week during normal business hours however there will be events that occur on weekends that will require cleanup prior to Sunday morning services. Some Saturday work is required and could be as late as 8pm as some events go late on Saturdays.
